Are You Ready For The Hill?

The Gary Tillman Memorial Clocktower 5K is just around the corner. Are you ready?

According to estimated numbers I have received, the base of Clocktower Hill (actually, Neely Hill) is at 590 feet above sea level and the top is at 675 feet above sea level. That’s 85 feet difference. The distance from the base of the hill to the top is about a tenth of a mile. So basically you climb 8 stories in a tenth of a mile. Not to mention there are 3 more miles of race wrapped around this wonderful little incline. Are you up for the challenge?

The race will be held on August 15, 2009. There is also a 2-mile health walk. The deadline for early registration is August 8. Pre-race packet pickup is August 14 from 4 to 6 pm at Pro-Performance, 314 East 1st Ave. See the race flyer for all race details.

Thanks to Brian Bojo and his Garmin for the estimated Clocktower Hill numbers.
